Simple and intimate are the two words that I would use to describe John and Michala’s wedding. This simple wedding consisted of family and close friends gathered together in a white Southern country chapel at Forest Hill Park in Perry, GA.
Not only were family and friends present, but passed relatives were remembered as well. I love how simple but powerful these pictures are, taken by Joyful Portrait. John is holding his dad’s boutonniere. Mr. David died of cancer a year or two ago. John’s Mom pointed out in her toast that John is so much like his Dad. This fact just further adds to the intimacy that Mr. David was remembered by a boutonniere in his place of honor at the ceremony.
The bride’s grandmother was also remembered by small bouquet of yellow and white roses at her seat at the ceremony. She passed away less than a year before the wedding, and Michala was very close to her. See the highlight video below.
Also, John and Michala had a photo taken of themselves that mimics the photo that John’s Mom and Dad had taken when they were married. John’s brother did the same at his wedding. I just love how they’ve kept this moment in the family over the decades! Simple and intimate!
Simple and intimate. Those two terms return to me again. These flowers were a simple way to honor the missed loved ones in John and Michala’s family, but they are so intimate as well. Now they have the boutonniere and bouquet to keep and remember his dad and her grandmother by.
Below, watch the highlight film below from John and Michala’s wedding for a complete look at their day! True to myself, I tried a new gradient! I was going for a light and dreamy look. Did I succeed?
