If you like it, please vote for me next week on the Robins Federal Credit Union (RFCU) website! I’ll let y’all know what happens!
Today I edited a video that I created for a contest. RFCU is hosting a video contest for RFCU Youth Week which is next week. The theme for the age 16-24 category was helping others in the community. I chose to record a video on tutoring, since that is the best way that I help people out.
It all started with an idea to have the video tell a story, starting with my first interest in tutoring which started when I was in high school. I thought that I would make the first part of the video funny with me melodramatically hugging my employer in excitement. However, as I was editing, I realized the video had a more serious undertone, so I deleted the funny portion of that one shot and added some soft mood music. So here’s the final product. I’m pleased with it. It actually turned out better than I thought. 🙂
The photo at the beginning is a combination of two photos (one which I color adjusted) that I edited in Photoshop and applied an artistic filter to (watercolor). I also did some color adjustment on the darker of the Georgia Tutoring Association (GATA) clips and the interview-style part of the video (which I shot after sunset…not advisable).
UPDATE: This video took First Place at this contest. I received a cash award and got to join RFCU’s Swag Team as an honorary SWAG team member!
